Hello, friends!
So, I figured while I was still struggling through my review for Kingdom of Ash (seriously, I just keep staring at the screen wondering where to begin), you could enjoy a new book tag. This one is more of a “get to know the reader” tag and I love those! I found this tag on Kimberlyfaye Reads and I believe it was originally create by Tea and Paperbacks.
READING ON THE COUCH OR IN BED?
I mostly read in bed, once I am settled in for the night and before I go to sleep. Reading on the couch is fine, but not as comfortable I don’t think. When I had a couch on my patio, though, that was my favorite! When the weather is nice and not blazing hot that is 😂.
MALE MAIN CHARACTER OR FEMALE MAIN CHARACTER?
I don’t think I really have a preference. Either one is fine with me, as long as the book is well-written and engaging. I feel like I tend to read more female perspectives, simply because they are more prevalent, though. I really enjoy multiple POV books, where I can get duel perspectives!
SWEET SNACKS OR SALTY SNACKS WHILE READING?
My go-to reading snack, since I am usually reading in the evening, is white wine and popcorn 😋 so I would definitely go with salty! It is my fave. You just have to make sure you keep a napkin handy.
TRILOGIES OR QUARTETS?
Trilogies. I am not familiar with too many quartet series. I always like the trilogy format, because it is usually the perfect length to tell the story best. However, for some books, it makes sense to be a duology or longer series. It just depends.
FIRST PERSON POV OR THIRD PERSON POV?
First person POV can sound very trite, whiny, and cliche. Now, I am not saying that it always does, but I usually gravitate toward third person POV.
READING AT NIGHT OR IN THE MORNING?
I definitely prefer reading in the evening or at night. If the book is compelling enough, though, reading in the morning with a cup of coffee is good too.
LIBRARIES OR BOOKSTORES?
I love the idea of going to the library and it is so useful! However, I just enjoy the atmosphere in a bookstore more. I don’t tend to actually buy books from them, though, since they are so expensive. But the feeling and the smell of a big bookstore, especially if there is also a connected coffee shop, is unlike anything else. I love it! 😍☕📚
BOOKS THAT MAKE YOU LAUGH OR BOOKS THAT MAKE YOU CRY?
I like both! I love laughing or having a goofy grin while reading funny scenes in my books. Witty banter is wonderful! It is extremely rare for a book to make me cry though, so it has to be really, really moving and well-written to get there.
BLACK BOOK COVERS OR WHITE BOOK COVERS?
I think I own more black book covers, or at least dark ones, but I like the look of white ones a lot too! I guess I do not really have a preference for the color, as long as the cover is elegant, intriguing, and well made. Now I want to buy more books with white covers, just to balance them out.
CHARACTER-DRIVEN OR PLOT-DRIVEN STORIES?
Character-driven mostly, but it also has to have a decent plot, too. That does not necessarily mean it needs to be full of action or anything like that, but some sort of path/structure in the plot is a must. That being said, characters are the most important part of a story for me. If I don’t like the characters or they are written poorly, then it can ruin the whole book for me. I simply won’t care what is happening to them anymore 🤷♀️.
Hope you enjoyed!
Thank you for reading ❤
