“”Maybe I could have liked you. Maybe we could have been friends.” It flowed out of me as if I had already dreamed it. “Maybe, if I was just me and dreamwalkers had never been hunted, I could have overheard you playing this old music and realized it was the same music I loved . . . and maybe we could have got talking about it over coffee. If we’d met in another world.””

Wow I really missed these characters!! I love Paige and Warden so much I cannot wait for the fourth book, The Mask Falling, to come out next February. So excited!! This was a great addition to the series and even though I wish it had been longer, I enjoyed this novella very much.

Book Review: The Grownup by Gillian Flynn ★★★

“I’m a self-didact. (Not a dirty word, look it up.) I read constantly. I think. But I lack formal education. So I’m left with the feeling that I’m smarter than everyone around me but that if I ever got around really smart people—people who went to universities and drank wine and spoke Latin—that they’d be bored as hell by me. It’s a lonely way to go through life.”

This was an okay little novella. I picked it up on a whim and I really enjoyed the beginning, but the end fell kind of flat for me.

“I never thought it would come to anything bad for anyone but me.”

This was such a pleasant surprise!!!! I had no idea that this novella even existed and then I just stumbled across it on accident. Of course, I downloaded and read it right away (it’s only about 50 pages, after all). Anything to fill the void left by The Cruel Prince! And it was good! I loved this little story, which is crafted as a letter from Taryn to Jude, because it offers so much more insight into Taryn’s character and gives the reader a new perspective to consider during the events of The Cruel Prince.

Book Review: A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas ★★★

“I have to create, or it was all for nothing. I have to create, or I will crumple up with despair and never leave my bed. I have to create because I have no other way of voicing this.”

The Inner Circle is back, guys! Any book by Sarah J Maas is pretty much an instant buy for me and this one was no exception. I was eagerly anticipating reading this novella and I was not disappointed. Overall, the book, while not the best of the series, did what it was intended to do, and bridged the gap between the original Court series and the new spinoff trilogy that is in the works. I enjoyed it!
